Oh Be Dreamin'

People not on the Outer Banks always dream about living here year 'round. I never had that dream. In fact, it took me a long time to fully appreciate the islands so I can't relate -- but I understand the desire to be somewhere you aren't. People also think it would be so romantic to live on the oceanfront year 'round. I don't have that thought either when I can hear the ocean roaring from a mile away on winter nights. But dreams are dreams and I understand that. Here is a view that doesn't really exist in real life. Windswept dunes, an old house sitting by itself and no protective dune behind it so you can see the ocean. I just thought it would be fun to dream a little. You can see all these things here but not all in one place -- until now! The dunes are not quite as yellow as in the picture. Oops, too much saturation! 5 x 7 pastel on Wallis paper, matted and framed to 8 x 10, $125.
