Sunset Winter

This is the second Ampersand Aquabord I used with some watercolors. It is a very interesting surface to use and does not require a mat or glass. It is sprayed with fixative when it is dry for a matte finish. A typical winter sunset on the sound in Kitty Hawk, NC. This is a 4x4 and includes a beautiful burgundy frame from Yellowhouse Frame Shop. $65 includes sales tax and shipping.

About the Artist

A native of northern Ohio, Judith Bailey came to art at an early age. She was mentored by her mother, a hobby artist and her father whose hobby was photography. She spent many a day in her mother's studio, drawing and painting, or with her father outdoors, looking for wildflowers to photograph. After attending college, she began her working life as a graphic artist and has worked in that field for nearly 30 years. In the 1980's she moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where she still resides. She has a deep love of nature and has made it her life's work to portray its beauty in a variety of mediums: watercolor, pen and ink, soft pastels, acrylics and oils. She has been painting professionally since 2005 and her philosophy of art comes from her mother who once told her to “follow the light, day after day.”
